|This program is designed
to teach music and science to children in a unique and
inspiring way. This program serves 4th and 5th graders
from low/moderate income families attending public
schools in the Greenwich-Stamford area.
Both music and science classes take place at Treetops: music at the acoustically ideal Treetops Studio where the Treetops CMS main concert series takes place and science at the Mianus River and Treetops parks. The music class focuses on a repertoire of music that is inspired by nature. The science class focuses on learning about the Mianus River habitat, how the water flows to the Long Island Sound and how nature and its many sounds are connected to music.
This program greatly benefits the children of the Greenwich-Stamford area by incorporating into their education hands-on enriching experiences in music and nature.
We have developed this program in collaboration with Sound Waters (www.soundwaters.org).
